Mr. Samwel Isaac Oyugi has an MSc in Sustainability and Environmental Management from Staffordshire University, UK. He also holds a BEd from Moi University, Kenya having majored in Swahili Language and Geography. He has been in the teaching profession since 1993 and has taught Swahili Language B and A1 in the IB Diploma curriculum in Kenya before relocating to Hong Kong in 2008. He evaluated texts and prepared curriculum development materials for teaching Swahili in secondary schools at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development. Isaac critiqued an anthology of Swahili short stories used in the Kenyan National Secondary Swahili curriculum culminating to the publication of “Mwongozo wa Mayai Waziri wa Maradhi” by Sasa Sema publishers in 2005. His interests include environmental issues, curriculum development, reading and drama.
